Why Roles Matter
Your team is not one size. The person setting up your organization does different work from the counselor who talks to members every day. Roles let you match each person to their job.
The Six Roles
These are the roles you can choose from, with the description shown in the app:
- Admin: can manage members and organization settings.
- Manager: can manage teams and day-to-day operations.
- Program Director: oversees educational programs and curriculum.
- Instructor: teaches and guides students through courses.
- Student Coordinator: manages student enrollment and progress.
- Career Counselor: provides career guidance and mentorship.

Outplacement organizations see three different roles in place of Instructor, Student Coordinator and Career Counselor: Case Manager (manages individual client cases), Career Coach (provides one-on-one career coaching) and Program Coordinator (coordinates outplacement programs).
What Each Role Can See
A role also decides which job seekers someone can see. Choose carefully, because this is the biggest difference between roles.
- Admin, Manager and Program Director (and the Owner) see every job seeker in your organization.
- Career Counselor, Student Coordinator and Instructor, and Case Manager, Career Coach and Program Coordinator, see only the job seekers assigned to them.
How to Pick a Role
Go to Settings, then Team, and select Invite Team Member. Open the Role menu, choose the role that fits, and send the invitation. Every staff member's role is shown next to their name on the Team tab.
What About a Supervisor Role?
A dedicated Supervisor role is coming soon. Until then, Manager is the closest fit for someone who oversees day-to-day operations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which role should most case managers have?
For people who guide members through their job search, Career Counselor is the closest match (Case Manager for outplacement organizations). They will see only the job seekers assigned to them. If someone needs to see your whole caseload, choose Manager instead.
Who owns the organization?
One person is marked as Owner on the Team tab. Transferring ownership to someone else is coming soon.
