What their customers say
Quotes from people at School District #5 (Southeast Kootenay)'s customers.
“I love the discipline that our kids have learned at KDS. Being a self-learner is a skill and KDS as an on-line school teaches this. For years to come, I hope KDS continues to teach kids not just the curriculum, but the importance of self-discipline, advocating for one self to ask questions, time management and pacing.”
“I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank you and everyone involved with this program. KDS has made it possible for me to continue my education in a way that supported my needs and circumstances. It’s been a lifeline for students like me, who may not have followed the most traditional path but are still deeply committed to learning. Your support, flexibility, and understanding have made all the difference, and I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunities this program has given me.”
“The teachers are knowledgeable, friendly, understanding, hardworking, and seem to really care about their students. I also love that a lot of the courses now allow for rewrites. This has been a wonderful thing for kids with test anxiety. I can say if it goes badly, you can always rewrite it. It is hard to do well in the next grade if you weren't given the opportunity to learn a concept in the lower grade. Also being able to work slower or faster in a course, or even just focus on one course at a time. Each kid learns in a different way, and it is great that this school can adapt.”
“Online learning has been a complete game changer. I feel as if the online learning process is how every school should be run doing a single course at a time until complete, test, and move on to the next course! I personally feel that every child could succeed with this system in place! I am excited to be a part of the online learning process and my goal is to be able to complete my grade 12! The online learning program has made it possible for me to see that it is something even with my situation that can be done!”
“I love that I can work at my own pace. I love that when I can't handle school I'm not behind when I come back. I love that the teachers are understanding.”
