HDR Remodeling

“Last night Ben and I cooked our first meal in the new kitchen—for 10 people! The new space is so great. It's beautiful and it's smart. The flow from kitchen to dining to living makes it feel like a whole new house… It has been very satisfying to jump in and think with you on so many design decisions and know I could trust you with many others. The craftsmanship is solid and you finished on time. I havnt heard about a single kitchen remodel that finished on time. You have a great team and process. The project turned out better than I envisioned. I'm thrilled. I want to do it again.”

“This is our second large remodel with HDR. A few years ago they renovated the top floor of our house, and we recently had them back to work on the basement where we carved out a new bedroom from a family room...completely gutted and built a new bathroom, added built-in bookcases, and installed new oak trim throughout. It was a large, 4 month construction project. They're not the cheapest out there, but paying a little more buys a lot of peace of mind. The workmanship is excellent and the project was on time and on budget.”

“I chose HDR to build my ADU, because they seemed to be the most savvy, exacting, and the most on top of the Oakland Building Dept's specifications...I'd recommend HDR to anyone considering a remodel or stand-alone unit. HDR's employees are fantastic people and I miss them.”

“The final product is beyond our dreams. We wake up every day and look at it in awe. Our original house, which HDR converted to open-concept, now matches the style and elegance of the addition that was built 25 years ago. HDR worked with our vision and budget. They were professional, reliable, and kept us apprised. We would happily work with HDR again and recommend them to others.”

“HDR is a great group - they are knowledgeable, fair and their attention to detail is top notch. The design department is composed of architects and interior designers that really understood my design aesthetics and were flexible and happy to accommodate to my style . The build side of HDR has a dedicated project manager that stayed with us during the entire project, keeping us up to date on what was going on. Happy to recommend them!”

“We hired HDR for drainage work and a home remodeling project. They were super responsive, worked with us to come up with a plan that met our most important needs and was within our budget and ultimately delivered high-quality work that we are very happy with to this day. Working with a design-build firm is a little more expensive but in our opinion is worth it in the long run because of the efficiencies and synergy it brings to the whole process. Highly recommend working with HDR!!”

“We interviewed a few different firms for a kitchen remodel of our small craftsman home. It was immediately clear that HDR was the right choice. We felt an immediate connection with their staff. They approached everything with customer service top of mind and were communicative and organized throughout the design and construction process. They made a very stressful and chaotic process streamlined and smooth. They were also very realistic about timeline. The end result far exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend their end to end service to anyone looking for a dream kitchen or bath.”

“HDR created a masterpiece. We could not be happier with our beautiful new kitchen and bathroom. Even with a couple of hitches HDR came through. Ultimate customer satisfaction is foundational to the company. Thank you Team HDR!!”

“They're not the cheapest out there, but paying a little more buys a lot of peace of mind. The workmanship is excellent and the project was on time and on budget.”

“HDR has been my go-to house projects team for 10+ years. Starting with a complex bathroom remodel, then a collection of smaller projects like a deck and floor replacement and last year a major kitchen remodel. This group is highly professional, executes on time and does beautiful work. Most importantly, they partner with me as the homeowner, listening carefully to my desires and concerns and address them promptly. They stand by their work and I would not use anyone else.”

“We've done three construction projects in the past decade, two of them with different contractors and this most recent one with HDR, so we know when things aren't done well. HDR was responsive, they listened, and they did great work. Nothing is ever perfect - there was one sub that didn't do a good job. We didn't have to complain; HDR was on it and they made the sub come back and redo the work. That's the sign of a good contractor.”
