Emirates Plans to Hire 1,500 Pilots Over Two Years

Emirates marked World Pilots’ Day in May 2025 with a big announcement: a plan to hire over 1,500 new pilots over the next two years, including more than 550 in 2025 alone. The hiring supports the airline's growth plans. It also highlighted its Accelerated Command programme, which fast-tracks First Officers to Captain. More than 80 pilots were progressing through the scheme. Talk about moving on up!

With a fleet that's as fresh as they come, Emirates' pilots fly 261 wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s and the A350, to 148 destinations across six continents. Flying hasn't been this thrilling since the Wright brothers took flight.

Dubai: More Than Just Sand Dunes

For pilots contemplating a move, Emirates offers more than just a day job; it's a lifestyle. Think a tax-free salary with profit sharing, gated community housing, chauffeured transport and family travel perks. Plus, 42 days of annual leave, because who doesn't want to summer in the Seychelles?

Dubai itself is a desert of opportunities, with access to housing, education and lifestyle benefits for pilots and their families. The airline's pilot base spanned 112 nationalities, and nearly 2,000 new pilots had joined since 2022.

Hiring Globally, Flying Globally

As part of its global recruitment blueprint, Emirates was hunting for experienced pilots ready to join one of four key programs: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, Type Rated First Officers, and Non-Type Rated First Officers. New hires join a 4,600-strong flight crew community, and the recruitment team planned roadshows in more than 40 cities around the world in 2025. It looks like the skies over Dubai might get a bit more crowded!

For those interested in riding the pneumatic wave of aviation and living life with a side of luxury in Dubai, this might be the perfect reason to dust off that resume.
